Summary
I believe from what we know of the elevator and what we’ve seen, it’s extremely safe and quiet. We’ve had experience with other elevators where there are wells and the hydraulic system is a lot noisier. For the safety of children, we looked at a lot of different elevators, and the Nevada one doesn’t have a big footprint. It’s not permanently attached anywhere, so it just sort of sits there, and sort of with the clear glass and the rest of it is pretty invisible. Well, the technicians who installed it described the safety features, and if there’s a power failure or anything like that, it’s got its own safety stops on it, so nothing’s going to really be happening.
I think it’s much bigger than that because of the clarity of the glass and its round shape, just sort of blends with where we set it there. It’s rather novel and unique in its round design. For a home elevator, I think it by far exceeds the design, safety, quietness, and space required. Seeing we’ve been here 25 years and we didn’t need it until my wife had a hip replaced and I had a knee replaced, the need for an elevator became obvious. It sort of fits in with the curve of the stairway and everything. Since it’s been installed, I think that it’s made a pleasure of going up to the second floor. All I can say is, wow, it’s different, it’s neat.
Whoever heard of an air elevator, everybody thinks of it. We’re really, really happy with what we’ve had to experience so far. And secondly, I’d say it’s an excellent choice for a couple of reasons. One is the design, which can fit into various spots as ours fit there. With the curve of the stairway, the technicians were more than polite, well-qualified, and they just did their job. And I think by the time they were done, we became good friends.
